Pet Insurance | Protecting Your Bernese Mountain Dog Puppy

Bringing home a Bernese Mountain Dog puppy is an exciting and joyful experience. These loving dogs quickly become cherished members of the family. Like any puppy, however, they are naturally curious and energetic, which sometimes leads to unexpected trips to the veterinarian. At Legacy Mountain Dogs, we work hard to raise healthy puppies and we stand behind them with a health warranty. However, it is important for new puppy owners to understand that our health warranty only covers genetic health conditions. Puppies can encounter many other situations that may require veterinary care, which is why pet insurance is such an important part of responsible pet ownership.

Why Pet Insurance Is Important

Puppies are playful, curious, and always exploring the world around them. During this stage of life it is not uncommon for puppies to experience situations that may require medical attention. Even the most carefully supervised puppy can occasionally need unexpected veterinary care. Veterinary visits, emergency care, or treatments can become expensive quickly. Having pet insurance helps ensure that your puppy receives the care they need without added financial stress.

Common Situations Pet Insurance Can Cover:

  • Swallowing objects they should not eat
  • Injuries while playing or running
  • Stomach upset or digestive issues
  • Allergic reactions
  • Ear infections or skin irritations
  • Accidental injuries during normal play

Understanding Your Coverage

Our Health Warranty Covers

  • Serious hereditary conditions
  • Life threatening genetic health issues
  • Conditions diagnosed within 2 years of birth

Legacy Mountain Dogs proudly provides a two year health warranty with every puppy. This warranty covers serious genetic health conditions that may affect the puppy. Responsible breeding and health testing greatly reduce the risk of inherited health problems.

What Pet Insurance Covers

What Pet Insurance Covers

  • Accidents and injuries
  • Illnesses not related to genetics
  • Emergency veterinary visits
  • Digestive issues and infections
  • Ongoing medical treatments

Our health warranty does not cover accidents, illnesses, injuries, or other medical situations that may occur after the puppy leaves our care. This is one of the main reasons we strongly recommend and require pet insurance for all of our puppies.

Trupanion – 30 Day Free Coverage

Required for all Legacy Mountain Dogs puppies

Trupanion 30 Day Free Pet Insurance

To help protect our puppy families and ensure every puppy has coverage from the very beginning, we require all new owners to activate Trupanion’s 30 day free pet insurance. This policy provides immediate coverage for accidents and illnesses during the first 30 days after your puppy arrives home. It allows families to focus on enjoying their new puppy while having protection in place in case veterinary care is needed. Trupanion is a well known pet insurance provider that offers comprehensive coverage for many types of veterinary treatments. By activating this free 30 day policy, families have time to evaluate their long term insurance options while still ensuring their puppy is protected right away.

Important — Required Before Your Puppy Goes Home

Insurance Is Required for Our Puppies

Because we care deeply about the wellbeing of the puppies we raise, pet insurance is required before your puppy goes home. Families must meet one of the following requirements before pickup or delivery is scheduled.

  • Activate the Trupanion 30 day free insurance coverage
  • Provide proof of an active policy with another pet insurance provider

Our goal is to make sure that every puppy has access to proper veterinary care if needed.

“Pet insurance provides peace of mind so you can focus on
enjoying your new companion without worrying about the unexpected.”
